[ music | The Who - I've Had Enough ]

I am so tired of Achewood. it's a parody of its former self. or sometimes a parody of Chris Ware instead. a blatant unfunny parody of Chris Ware with bad art.

If you ask me, the comic jumped the shark during the Great Outdoor Fight. I am aware this is not a popular opinion among the rabid achewood fantards.

my point with this isn't just to complain about it, but just as a self-memo to get myself to end an irritating addictive habit. if none of the strips from now until this Friday impress me at all, I'm quitting. NEVER READING IT AGAIN. I PROMISE. you're all witnesses, ok?

I guess the character blogs are still kinda funny though. I'll miss those.

the Clon album was okay. kinda mediocre overall. I was going to pick out the best song and share it here, but I didn't really like any of them enough. I know it's all silly k-pop music, but at least their old stuff still has a weird fun (yet stupid) charm to it. SO WE'LL LISTEN TO THAT INSTEAD!

SHIT THIS IS WHAT STARTED IT ALL, WASN'T IT? EIGHT YEARS AGO

also here's a pretty good comic.

played VTES today. I won a game! it feels great to win, considering how often I get my ass kicked. but I think I'm getting better at deck building in general. and I have more cards to work with now.

if you want to get me lots of birthday presents, buy me a box of VTES boosters plz <3

and here's a funny little anecdote that has nothing to do with vampires but is still about nerdy strategic trading card games....

it turns out that my DCI rating for Magic: the Gathering has been growing very quickly lately. I'm one of the best players in the area!
... and I don't even play it anymore!

at the local game shop, the owner, Phil, holds regular sanctioned tournaments. I don't play constructed at all, since I sold off all my cards, but I decided I'd occasionally play in a draft or two for fun (you get 3 packs of random cards to make a deck, so everyone is on equal footing despite how large and old your collection is). I was forced to sign up for a DCI number even though I honestly didn't want free Magic cards in the mail and didn't care at all for any of those rankings. I put down my name and left the rest blank, saying anyone could write their address to get my free stuff. then I forgot about it.

a few days ago, Phil tells me that he's been playing under my name as his alias. since he's the host and judge, he's not allowed to play in his own constructed tournaments, so he secretly uses mine. and since he's very good, he tends to win most of them! we thought it's hilarious that "my" rating is nearly catching up to his real one. it can only go down when I actually do join in and play.

I hope this doesn't turn into a sitcom, with pros visiting this area hoping to play against me. I had enough of that back when everyone was confusing me for this expert drift racing kid in an '84 Trueno....

this is one of my most favorite movies. now you can watch it online.

Save the Green Planet!

a Korean thriller mystery scifi black-comedy romance tragedy movie, switching genres constantly. it's basically about an alien-conspiracy theorist who is convinced his old boss is the leader of an alien invasion, so he kidnaps him, to torture a confession out of him. hilarity and brutality ensues. it's one crazy ride.

not for the faint of heart at all.
